What years of experience as pro photographer has taught me is: you never know what you’ll be asked to photograph, events are unpredictable, and you better have confidence in your gear and your technical ability to get the shot. Plus have a little luck. And you probably don’t want to do something for the first time when you are on assignment.
Challenge means opportunity… how do I stop the action of an airplane flying in the dark? The twilight airshow at Ocean Reef Club was one such opportunity. Thinking an offshore vantage point would work, with Florida Keys sunset as backdrop, to top it off calm seas and excellent Captain Nick aboard Barton and Gray’s Hinkley “American Pie”. It all came together. Thanks to everyone who made it happen. ESPECIALLY THOSE BRAVE PILOTS!
